Oh look!! My blog can about have its privatised status cause i doubt anyone reads it since my tagboard is all but DEAD. Well a good thing. =) Don't have to worry too much about wad i say. (i think...) Lol!
Hmm... Things have been pretty intense the last week being bombarded with tests, tests and yet more tests. Things did not really look up till friday. I had such a wonderful day on friday!! For one, it was the last day of the torturous week!! Hmm that was the day that i had the geog fieldtrip to URA. Supposedly to learn about urban planning in singapore. I can't say that i have learnt much but i definately would say that it was a great fieldtrip. For one moment it totally felt as though i was a primary school kid enjoying and anticipating the excitement of "having lessons outta school".
The journey there...
Totally camera whoring such that the driver was annoyed as we blocked his view of the back. Lol! What else do you expect with a gals class like ours?? XP
Then it was the long long walk around and the plain silliness of us being childish and acting really "arts". *arts means the way that artsy ppl behave. Generally they are believed to behave in a different way frm their sci counterparts but controversy is involved. Beware of how u use it...
After the long talk by the HR personal about singapore landuse. Not much wow factor there... I was kinda tired so i almost fell asleep. *shh*
Outside again!! All running to take a photo together. The funny thing is, whenever a few people, say 3 ppl, pose for a photo, it would always be joined by all the rest. Cries of "i also wanna take photo" or "wait for me" can always be heard.. HAHA! <3 06S501
See that building behind there? It is the red dot design museum and the whole exterior of the building is painted that fire engine red. So cool!! We went there to explore after leaving the rest. That is, me, sam, wanying and bev. I think it is really a nice place. U can even see the old letter boxes that are red all lines up in a row. The artsy fatsy feeling is all around and the murals on the pillars are so plain nice that i want to reproduce it on my bedroom wall! Too bad i don't have the paint nor the skill. =( No photos as of yet. All are with wanying!
After that it is off to chinatown for us but not before we try the famous ham jin peng from maxwell foodcentre. Gosh! The man that made the delicious buns was so old i could swear that he looked ancient! Makan a little and off to the NIGHT BAZZAR!
An experience not to be forgotten, the night bazaar is so fun! ANd crowded of course but all in all it was great excitement to be there. Not an experience i could guarantee that you would be able to find in one of those cold cold shopping centres. =) I liked the whole feeling. Shopping and tasting the various food and goodies that were being offered to us. It was pure enjoyment! heex. The food there was simply interesting! There was a huge variety and i'm not only talking about the common new year goodies and sweets. It includes the food that are brought over from other countries like thailand and china. We are really becoming a global city aren't we? The native food can even be found in such places!! We bought some kinda pancake thingy that has sugar wrapped in it and it tasted so good. The thais were selling it. The other kinda crips was also seen i really don't know what u call that but it is really common in thailand was also sold. Nice!! =) The thais were also wearing the tee that they were wearing for the king's birthday. Such a familiar sight to me. Remembering the times that i spent in bangkok...
Food from china's provinces was also found. I think in this case it was some sort of meat skewers that look like our satay. Didn't try it but it does look appetising. Many foreigners were also hawking their wares and i even found several mp3 players(ipod) that were selling at a rediculous price of $68 for 1G memory. What a fake!
As the sky grew darker, more and more people started to appear. The streets became so crowded that i really had to squeeze my way through. Shopping and stopping at any store that caught our fancy was so relaxing. =) I could do it again anytime!! I enjoyed the company too. <3
Soon it was late and we all had to leave for our various lodging and appointments. It was with regret that we left. Chinatown had never been so fun before!!
